Some time ago, I came up with a phrase for those little moments in time that don't seem particularly special when they happen...but end up changing your life in a very dramatic and meaningful way.
For instance... the moment I met my husband. It started out as an exchange of comments about something that I cannot even remember now. But led to marriage and the setting of my feet on a path I had never envisioned.
The moment I passed a "Winnie the Pooh" teddy bear display in a department store and on a whim, purchased one for my son...not knowing how that dear little bear would be the center of his childhood. Not having a clue that it would be loved so much, that when my son's wife gave birth to their son many years later...she would decorate his nursery in Winnie the Pooh motif, and have the baby's first photo taken in a Pooh bear outfit!
Little meetings and happenstances in life...that seem unimportant at the time, but lead to life altering events and profound relationships or place our feet on a path that puts us in a position to greatly affect the lives of others in our future.
I call these moments, "Crossroads of Destiny". A place in time that we are often unconscious of being at when it occurs... and can only see in retrospect.
Well, folks, a Crossroads of Destiny is what I experience this morning. An ordinary Saturday morning in which I only intended to do a bit of reading and maybe some sewing later in the afternoon. No special plans to change the world or even the sheets on my bed today.
Cup of coffee in hand, I set about to check my email and a forum I frequent...and then it happened.
I man I have barely communicated with on the forum, suggested my watching a video he had linked there. I really did not have time...but I chose to anyway. And as soon as I finished watching it...I knew at once I had been at one of those crossroads of destiny.
My life and my political perspective and probably many future articles, books, and events...have been set in motion. Because my feet were set on the path that held those things.
I have come this afternoon to share the video with you. To get your hand and lead you back with me to this "crossroads of destiny".
