I am not a muslim but my husband is. He has never laid a hand on me but my ex white christian husband beat me. Kinda funny-huh. So what's wrong with women covering themselves? No one every said anything about Mary doing it. I guess they should follow the American way of life and walk around in a bathing suit and lose their virginity at a young age and have kids with three different fathers, never being married to any of them. And then end up on the Jerry Springer show. Yeah, American's are much better. And buy the way, the women are not forced to wear the hijab. It is their choice. Some of my sister in laws wear them and some of them do not. You really have a lot to learn before you blindly judge people. You are a very closed minded person. There are good and bad people in ALL RELIGIONS. Thank you for reading.

And yes most muslims want to live in peace. There are radical muslims out there who want to force people to follow their rules.(Saudi Arabia) Just as there are radical christians who want people to follow them. They both make their religions look bad. On 9/11 all of my in-laws went to the mosque to pray for the victims of 9/11.Yeah, what terrible people. And as for women in Dearborn, they are just following their religion.Freedom of religion.

Valerie,
Did you read the book before you commented? I did not even discuss what Muslim women wear. And the book does not either. It discusses the mindset of the muslim. The hatred they have toward those who do not agree with their so called "religion". A religion that believes in dripping acid into the eyes of someone as punishment for their crime...and cutting off hands, feet and heads. A religion that believes their "god" requires the massacre of innocent people in order to "honor" him.

You are naive if you think this "religion" is like any other. Allah is not the Christian God. If you would do a little research you would find that he is satan of the Bible.
I have no argument with what women choose to wear...but much argument with sharia law being implemented in the United States of America. It violates the constituition and attempts to form a caste system of lower class citizens who will not bow to Islam.
I would be happy to email with you on this subject if you like. I'm glad your husband does not beat you. But that doesn't change the fact that as a Muslim, he worships satan. This is where the irrational Muslim hatred of the Jews comes from. I encourage you to read the book "Because They Hate".

A Bit About Kate...

  • Sharing my heart has always come naturally for me. Perhaps I got that from my dad. He was a popular D.J. in the 1950's when radio was king. He had an easy going style of broadcasting. That was a new thing back in the day. He could talk to an entire city like it was just the two of you at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee. No small thing back then, as radio was "live". He would talk to his audience and then spin a few records. Then he would take a phone call or two and just chat on the air with a listener. The engineer was always ready to press the seven second delay button, just in case the conversation became unacceptable for broadcasting. Profanity was against FCC rules back then and all radio was "family friendly". My dad's name was Bill Wells and I will eventually have a page on here dedicated to him and to his many years on radio. Unlike my dad, "writing" is my microphone and it seems to be God ordained that I am at a place in my life where I have time to write...just when blogging has become so popular. I do believe I inherited some of his "gift for gab"...but the things I want to share are from deeper places in my heart. Stories that I've written and reflections of things I'm pondering. Everything from life situations and musings about the times we live in...to insights I have received from Scripture. I hope you find something here that blesses you. A story I've written or an article. A recipe or my latest "life question". The Bible says that from the heart come the wellsprings of life... You are cordially invited to come back often and see what else is going to spring forth from the heart of Kate Wells!
